Crazy for Tea!

SHARE THE LOVE

Sometimes the phone rings and on other end is someone who thinks and feels about a lot of things the same way that you do. You know right away that you’ll have a special partnership.

Several months ago we were approached by a really unique and innovative company that designed a tea infuser made of biodegradable birch wood. The folks at TeaVert gave us complete creative control with a couple of thoughts to keep in mind throughout the shoot: They wanted the unique design of the infuser to be at the forefront and the high quality nature of their teas to be highlighted, all while informing the viewer of the environmental and health risks of traditional tea bags. So we did what any self-respecting, caffeine loving production company would do in this position—we drank lots of tea. It’s important to know your product, after all.

A lot of legwork goes into a successful shoot. Part of this blog’s purpose is to give you, the viewer, insight into what it’s like to be us. The night before almost always involves going through a lot of gear making sure everything is ready to go for the next day. Lights, C-stands, the right lenses, audio gear, tripods, cameras, charged batteries, sandbags, and a bunch of other goodies.

The next day we headed to a beautiful house in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle to begin setting up small scenarios to illustrate the sophisticated design of the TeaVert infuser as well as the beautiful full leaf teas that the infuser is made to brew. We were vibrating with excitement over how beautiful this simple little infuser is and how well it works…also because of the Darjeeling.

Throughout the day we set up shots using both natural and artificial light with a wide variety of lenses. The fun part about this kind of shoot with this amount of creative freedom is that we could follow our own vision and play around with the products to create the types of shots that we think work so well in the final edit. We felt like kids in a playground as we made cup after cup of tea. Since the project used voiceover to narrate the story, we only used visuals of the infusers, tea to tell the story. It’s always a pleasure to work with clients that put that kind of trust in our creative process and are excited to collaborate with us throughout the production and post-production phases.

If you are interested in working with a production company that gets excited about what your company is doing, your brand, or the massive amounts of caffeinated beverages you might have on hand, please don’t hesitate to pick up the phone. We can’t wait to work with you.
